You are correct, the game doesn't support more than 4 Cores unless you copy the files from that patch into the WIC folder. However, I bought the GOG version and applied this patch and it worked without problems with my 12 core CPU. I was able to play this game recently on a quad core CPU on Windows 10 running in Windows XP (SP2) compatibility mode, but I have since upgraded to a 12 core CPU and Windows 11 and can no longer run it. The problem seems to be to do with the game not running on CPUs with more than 4 cores. As far as I have looked, it doesn't seem like there is any easy way of getting the steam version to run because of Error 56, though you could try and look at the download link in this GOG forum thread and see if it works for you: It's actually on sale for super cheap right now at the time of writing. The steam version of World in Conflict is inferior to the Complete Edition version you can get from somewhere like GOG. Any fix for this?ĭon't know if you're still looking for a fix, but I'll reply anyway for anyone else looking. Always start WiC using this shortcut from now on - you have now enabled in-game console. Add '-console' at the end of the Target field. Right click on the shortcut then go to Properties. Create shortcut of 'wic.exe' to your desktop. Our World in Conflict message board is available to provide feedback on our trainers or cheats. To use anhCheats in game, follow the directions as listed below: 1.
